We are excited to announce the triumphant return of SMU Alums Koo Koo Kanga Roo to campus! Get all of your pre-finals worries out by dancing, singing, sweating, and generally goofing off with this ridiculous duo! The show will be in the Plaza in Wednesday April 29th (day before Study Day) at 7:30pm with Christopher the Musical, the new solo project of Saint Mary’s own Professor Vondracek opening the night up. Open Mic Night will follow after the show.

See you all there!

Koo Koo Kanga Roo is a live show unlike anything you have ever experienced. With the carefree simplicity of your kindergarden days, a Koo Koo Kanga Roo party is a family fun dance extravaganza for kids and adults of all ages! The undeniable urge to move your body will lead you to the dance floor as you hear their catchy pop melodies and infectious dance beats. Their live show is jam packed with zany sing-alongs and choreographed group dancing that is guaranteed to have the crowd on their feet and engaged in the fun!

In the summer of 2014, Mid West Music Fest initiated an Education Committee with representatives from Winona State University, Saint Mary’s University, Cotter High School, and Riverway Learning Community to strategize a more comprehensive educational plan for Mid West Music Fest. Sounds Like School was the result of these original discussions and represents the first step toward more fulling engaging and cooperating with local educational institutions to co-sponsor activities that expose students to live performances, connect students with musicians, and foster a general appreciation for music.

KSMR contributed to the efforts of this committee by working with Saint Mary’s Student Activities Committee, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia’s Eta Nu Chapter to host a series of concerts on campus to bring festival artists to the Saint Mary’s Community.

Our Saint Mary’s Sounds Like School roster of performers includes:

-Craig Weatherhead of The Weathered Heads-Winona, MN

-Jake Ilika of The Heavy Set- Minneapolis, MN

-Amanda Grace- Winona, MN

-Frankie Lee- Minneapolis, MN

-Christopher the Conquered- Des Moines, IA

-Bad Bad Hats- Minneapolis, MN
